The global market for specialty carbon black is expected to grow at an annualized rate of 5 percent during 2014-2018 in terms of volume, according to a new report.
Cabot Corp. remains the global leader, said TechSci Research in its study, "Global Specialty Carbon Black Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2018."
TechSci said the global market for specialty carbon black is highly consolidated and dominated by Cabot, Orion Engineered Carbons, Birla Carbon and Continental Carbon. However, the market researchers expect producers of carbon black n330 will increase their focus on specialty material during the forecasted period.
Specialty carbon blacks constitute a 9-percent share of global black demand, while the rest of the market is held by rubber and commodity carbon blacks.
